Friend of Sauce, Julie Slaughter, launched a new environmentally friendly product for the ski industry in seven resorts, Chamonix, Verbier, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens, on 19 December 2009 – the Wipeout, a full size piste map printed onto optical lens cloth, size 30 x 40cm.
The Wipeout is of high quality microfibre, keeping today’s expensive lenses clear and scratch-free and is also a highly durable piste map that does not get discarded at the end of the day. It replaces what would otherwise be a disposable item that not only uses up valuable resources, but is generally not recycled and can litter the mountain. The Wipeout’s durability and usefulness ensure that it is retained again and again.
The Wipeout would not just appeal to skiers/ boarders, but also cyclists, walkers and trail runners (any outdoor sports enthusiasts requiring navigation or other reference information).
As the logo states: ‘The Wipeout – see where you are, know where you are.’
