The news this week of Kit’s sudden and untimely death came as a shock. It goes without saying that all who met Kit will miss him, a man so full of life, and information.
I have never known anyone more capable and well-meaning, so balanced and fair, trustworthy and trusting. He was a huge influence, and influencer, and yet this may well have been something he was unaware of, as he was also a humble and unassuming man.
I first met Kit at the launch of the Resource Recovery Forum, about fifteen years ago, and we’ve worked together ever since then as our paths have crossed. Of course, Kit has worked tirelessly to further the cause of the industry that he was such a huge part of, in the interests of improving its environmental performance and demonstrating its value to – and role in – society.
Kit was a first rate communicator and he is a huge loss to us all. He will of course be missed by his friends and wonderful family. Our thoughts go out to them all, and especially to Kathie, Kit’s daughter, who has worked alongside her Dad running the RRF for many years.
